Month of May — Oldest Air Conditioner Contest

For the month of May, McVehil is holding the Oldest Air Conditioner in Washington County Contest. Single-family homes located in Washington County with whole house central air conditioning system are eligible to apply. May 4 — Vendor Fair

The Washington American Legion Post 175 is hosting a Vendor Fair on Saturday, May 4 from 10 am till 3 pm. The event will take place at the American Legion, 168 Park Avenue, Washington. The fair is being held by Old Trails Business and Professional Women’s Club. All the proceeds will benefit the Legions three scholarships. Lunch items will be available for purchase.

May 14 — Keep Our Republic

The public is invited to attend an informative nonpartisan event dedicated to fostering a deeper understand of the 2024 election process and equipping the community to combat misinformation surrounding election integrity. The event is being held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe on Tuesday, May 14 from 7 to 8:30 pm. It is free to attend. Click Here.

May 16 — 29th Annual Brownson House / Vernon C. Neal Golf Tournament

On Thursday, May 16 the 29th Annual Brownson House / Vernon C. Neal Golf Tournament will take place at the Lone Pine Golf Club. The Golf Package is $165 per person and includes Lunch and Golf. Lunch will be 11:30 am till 12:30 pm, Tee off is at 12:30 pm. There will be refreshments on the course. The event this year will be a Four Man Scramble. The Meadow Lands United Methodist Church will be hosting International Recording Gospel Artist Jim Worthing. The concert will be Sunday, May 19 at 6 pm. 535 Pike St. Meadow Lands PA. A love offering will be taken and is appreciated. Click Here.

June 1 — City Mission Pasta Dinner

On Saturday, June 1 there will be a Pasta Dinner Sponsored by Angelo’s Restaurant. The dinner will take place at St. Benedict the Abbot Church from noon till 4 pm. There will be auction baskets, 50/50, $1,000 “Tree of Wealth” and special Silent Auction Prize. Takeout will be available. Proceeds benefit the City Mission. Click Here.

June 1 — V.E.T.S. Care Charity Fest

On Saturday, June 1 the VFW Post 764 is hosting the V.E.T.S. Care Charity Fest from noon till 10 pm. The event is open to the public and the VFW is asking for a $5 donation to be a member for a day. The year the VFW Post 764 is raising fund to help Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, The Fisher House and Soldier Strong. There will be 50/50, food and drinks and Live Bands all day. Click Here.

June 9 — Washington - Greene Sports Hall of Fame Induction

June 17 — Washington & Greene County 3rd Annual Golf Outing

The Washington and Greene County Chapter of the PA Sports Hall of Fame presents the 3rd Annual Golf Outing June 17 at the Southpointe Golf Club. Registration is 9:00-9:45 am with a coffee bar, Shotgun Start at 10:00 am.  Lunch is at 2:30 pm follow by the awards presentation. Click Here.

June 22 — Canton Township Annual Community Day Picnic

On Saturday, June 22 the Canton Township Annual Community Day Picnic will be held at 1545 Jefferson Avenue Washington from 11 am to 6 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the Canton Township Municipal Building Monday through Thursday 8 am till 4:30 pm and Friday 8 am to 2 pm. June 29 — Kyle's Klassic

On Saturday, June 29 a 5K is being held by Kyle’s Klassic. The 5K will take place at Montour Trail, Hendersonville Park, Henderson Drive Cecil PA. Registration is at 7 am and the race begins at 9 am. The 5K is to honor Kyle Cratty and raise money for the Special Olympics. Last year Kyle’s Klassic was about to raise $20,000. Any contribution, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated. July 26 - 28 — Stephen Breese Coed Charity Softball Tournament

Starting on July 26 through July 28 the Stephen Breese Coed Charity Softball Tournament will take place. This is the 10 – year anniversary of the fundraiser. The event is to honor the life of Stephen Breese and to raise money to help various people in need with connections to the softball league. There will be a home run hitting contest for both men and women, a dunk tank, food trucks and more!

August 16 — Mid - Summer Night Trivia

The Immaculate Conception Church is hosting a Mid – Summer Night Trivia on Friday, August 16. Doors open at 5 pm and trivia begins at 6 pm. Register you team by August 2. First Friday of Each Month — Washington Health & Welfare Council
