On April 4, 2003 WJPA radio participated at the Penn Commercial Job Fair, located in Washington, PA from 9A-4P. Attending were Program Director, Peter Povich and Technical Coordinator, George Lasko. Penn Commerical promoted the job fair through flyers, posters and event advertising.

In May 2003, WJPA participated with the Arbor Career Center with their "On the Job" training program. This program is designed to help minorities with finding a job in their chosen field. Trey Willis shadowed several on-air announcers during an average work day. This program lasted for ten days.

On November 13, 2003, WJPA participated in a Career & Job Fair at Western Career & Technology Center. This is presented to High School Juniors & Seniors interested in a career in radio broadcasting. WJPA's exhibit booth was manned by Program Director, Peter Povich, Account Manager, Karen DeMarino and Technical Coordinator, George Lasko. WJPA staff members answered questions and gave advice from 6 PM-8PM.

On February 2, 2004, WJPA scheduled to have students from various high schools shadow our employees in an effort to allow the students to ascertain their interest in a career in radio broadcasting. Due to an ice storm, the students were unable to attend. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

On February 19, 2004, WJPA's Program Director, Peter Povich spoke to Washington Kiwanis, a community service organization regarding the day to day workings of our radio station, and what it takes to acquire the necessary skills to become a broadcaster. He also discussed the hiring practices of our station.

A part-time announcer with WJPA has been involved in a mentoring program with our Operations Director. As a result, this part-time employee has assumed various technical responsibilities in our physical plant, as well as at our transmitter site.
