April 19-20 -- PA Trolley Museum's 'Bunny Trolley'

Join the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum for one of their favorite events, “Bunny Trolley.” Ride a beautifully restored antique trolley to see the Bunny on Friday-Sunday April 12 -14 and Friday-Saturday April 19 -20 from 10 am to 5 pm. Ongoing activities include a scavenger hunt, games, a springtime craft activity, Four-Leaf 4-H Club’s live rabbits & a photo opportunity with the Bunny. Trolley rides leave every 20 minutes with the last ride leaving the platform at 4 pm. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (62+), $10 for children (ages 1-15), under 1 are free.  Admission also includes photo exhibits & self-guided tours of the Trolley Display Building. Tickets can be purchased in advance at patrolley.org.


April 27 -- 2nd Annual Spring Fling
The Hickory Lions Club will sponsor their 2nd Annual "Spring Fling Social" fundraiser on Saturday, April 27th, from 7 pm to 11 pm at the Mt. Pleasant Township Fire Hall in Hickory. This event features live music by the "Mikey Dee Band" & Karaoke during band breaks. Cost is $15 per person, which includes free refreshments, appetizers, door prizes, photo & ice cream booths. There will also be an auction & 50/50 raffle. Proceeds benefit Lions community services & sight-related projects including Leader Dogs for the Blind. April 27 -- 1st Annual 5K Bunny Run & Family Easter Walk
The Greater Canonsburg Chamber presents this run & walk, beginning at 8:30 am starting in the rear parking lot of Canonsburg Hospital, with the finish line at Sarris Candies. Awards presentations set for 9:30 am followed by basket raffles & a 50/50. Plus there's the "Ugly Bunny" Contest. For additional details, click here.


April 28 -- Troop 1378 Pancake Brunch
Noon to 2 pm at the First United Presbyterian Church, 102 North Main Street in Houston. Includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, hot chocolate or juice. There's also a bake sale & Chinese auction. Just $8 for adults & $5 for kids 10 & under. Proceeds benefit Boy Scout Troop 1378.

May 3 -- 10th Annual AMI, Inc. Poetry & Fine Art Show
From 11 am to 7 pm, at Venue 54, 54 West Wheeling Street in downtown Washington. There's free admission for a full day of local art appreciation. There will also be a poetry reading, art lesson & an awards ceremony. Read all about what's happening, here.

May 3 -- 59th Annual Human Rights Award Banquet
Featuring special keynote speaker Bakari Sellers, CNN Political Commentator. This year's recipient is the President of California University; Mrs. Geraldine M. Jones. Event held at the Doubletree by Hilton in Meadowlands with a reception starting at 6 pm & dinner at 7 pm. Music by The Mark Strickland Trio. May 6 -- All Saints Greek Orthodox Church Golf Classic

May 11 -- Ca$h Ba$h
At Alpine Club Lanes, 735 Jefferson Avenue in Washington. Doors open at 5 pm, with events beginning at 6 pm. Purchase tickets ($25 each) at Alpine Lanes, or at The City of Washington Police Station. Cash drawings every 15 minutes. Proceeds benefit The City of Washington Police F.O.P. Lodge 95.

May 11 -- Baked Steak Dinner
At the Taylorstown Christian Church, 32 Main Street in Taylorstown. 4 pm to 7 pm. Dinner will be served family style. It includes: baked steak, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, cole slaw, beets, rolls & butter along with assorted desserts & drinks. Just $13 for adults & $5 for kids 12 & under. May 17 -- ARC Human Services 12th Annual Golf Outing

June 1 -- Sarris Candies 'Run For Alex'
This annual race is held in honor of Alex Loos -- whose life was taken too soon in 2004. Alex's love of running is why this race is the most appropriate tribute to her life. You may participate and/or sponsor the race with a monetary donation. Read more here.



June 15 -- Community Unites, 2019
Presented by Harmony Life Center & Mystro's Movement, from 11 am to 7 pm at the Main Street Pavillion in downtown Washington. The kids will love super-heros & princesses.
